Mike Wald was born and raised in the Birmingham area. "I love Birmingham. My wife Suzanne and I have traveled around the country. We love San Francisco and New York, but we believe there's not a better place in the world to raise a family."

Growing up here, Mike has seen the city transform from an industrial town to a vibrant ________. Whether you grew up here or if you're about to relocate here, Mike started this website to share everything he loves about the city in hopes that you'll enjoy it to the fullest too.

He knows the area well. It's his job as well as his passion. Mike is a prominent Realtor in the Birmingham market and he's had the opportunity to see his beloved city through the eyes of newcomers from across the country and around the world. "It's always fun to see how pleasantly surprised newcomers are when they get to know Birmingham." Many fall in love with the area on their first visit. In fact, Mike remembers one couple that was relocating here from Europe. "They fell in love with the area before the plane landed because the view of the city, surrounded by tree covered hills, reminded them of their home city in Belgium." The couple recently had a beautiful baby girl and they are looking forward to raising her here.

Mike enjoys being a trusted adviser to newcomers and life-long residents alike. "It is very gratifying to have people place their trust in me and ask my guidance in such an important aspect of their lives. I really enjoy getting to know them and becoming friends with them." He adds, " It really makes helping them find the perfect house easier if I truely understand what they want and need."

"Birmingham has grown and re-invented itself in my lifetime, and I'm not all that old. The University of Alabama at Birmingham was just a few buildings when I was a youngster. Now it covers _____ blocks on Southside."  The city was once a steel town. "Some mornings when our Dad would take us to school, there'd be a light iron colored dust on the car." Those days are long gone. The air is cleaner and UAB is world class medical center and the states largest employer.

People moving here from other parts of the country have helped to make Birmingham a better place. The increased diversity of ideas and cultures make life here more interesting and enjoyable.
